Lost Lake: Pt 2

Bandeau; Forever 21 | Shorts; Unif via Wasteland | Bangles; Free People | Hat; Forever 21 | Rings; Modern Design, Vintage, Wasteland | Shoes; Jeffrey Campbell via Miss KL

Here's the second set I shot with Andrew Hunter a couple weeks ago. I have to say the last of these is my favorite, it just looks so natural. I finally found my perfect hat (pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but I'm doing it again anyway). I'm also pretty stoked that my hair is long enough now for me to wear hats without looking too boyish.
I know I'm lagging on my Seattle trip update, I promise I'll get that up within the week! It's been a bit of a bummer getting back to reality after having such a wonderful week away.

Hope you all have had a great weekend!

10th Tribe Lioness

Beanie; 10th Tribe | Shorts; Unif via Wasteland | Shoes; Jeffrey Campbell via Miss KL | Top; Forever21 | Knee Highs; Target| Bracelet; Azkara | Ring; Wasteland | Earring; Love Culture

Thanks to Demi Rueda for the photos!

I was so stoked when I got in 10th Tribe's limited edition Violent Youth Beanie, that I texted Demi immediately to do a shoot showcasing it. It is the most perfect beanie. Paired with my Unif shorts and JC's with knee highs made for the perfect match. Demi also said that I let out my inner lioness during this shoot. Fierce. Haha.

So things have been crazy for me lately. I have two days left of school I graduate Saturday. I have my state board test to get my license April 3rd. This weekend was spent with Phinehas who crashed with me before their show at Victory Cafe on Tuesday.

Ended up having to transfer half their gear in my car while their van was out of commission.

Officially ending this school in Phase Two, Paul Mitchell's honor program. This rose that looks like the piranha plants in all the Mario games proves it.

However though, I came home from school today with a low grade fever. Let's pray that I can kick this tonight and don't wake up feeling worse in the morning. I only have two days of school left, I don't want to push back my grad date any more!

Hope you all are doing well.

I think this may be my favorite shoot to date. Definitely wanted a more grungy look, so we drove around downtown until Demi spotted this location, which had obviously become a place of rest for some of the homeless people downtown. Shoes, mattresses, trash everything. But I loved the look of the broken down brick wall. This here is witness that you can find beauty, even in the ruins.
My parents got me both this gorgeous necklace and my amazing new shoes for Christmas. They spent way too much on me, way more than I deserve. I'm just grateful to have such amazing parents.

It is now the last day of 2012, and it has been one big roller coaster of a year. So many ups and downs, and as always, the highs were the highest, and the lows the lowest. I've learned a lot this past year, and matured an incredible amount. I've learned how to love and be close to someone again. I've learned what I know I don't want to be. I've made mistakes, and now I'm working on redeeming myself. I'm working to get what I want, and learning to leave what I don't need behind.  I started school at Paul Mitchell, and I only have two and a half months left there. I've gained some of the best friends I could ask for, and lost those who could no longer help me along this journey called life. I am so grateful to everyone who has been a part of my life this year, no matter how small the role. My friends, my family, and Kuppajoe, have all played huge roles in making this year what it was.
For 2013, I hope to have more highs. I have a lot I need to improve on myself. I'm not setting any resolutions, because you shouldn't need a new year as an excuse to work on bettering yourself. I must redeem myself to those I've let down in the past. I have a whole lot to prove, and a whole lot of love to share.

Farewell 2012, and I pray that 2013 may exceed you.
God bless you all, and have a safe and happy New Year!

Much love
Maddie
