25

Jeans; H&M | Sweater; Same Old Chic | Boots; Doc Martens via Nasty Gal | Bird skull earrings; The Laundry Room

Photos by Megan Lane

These were taken last Sunday on my 25th birthday! It's really weird to think that I'm a quarter of a century now. Time has gone by so fast, I don't feel like I'm this old already!! But anyway, spent my birthday with my best friend Megan, who also shot these images for me. I'm just really excited that we can finally start to wear sweaters here in California. It still hasn't cooled off as much as I would like, but I guess this is better than not cooling off any at all. Actually now that I think about it, it's kinda nice to be able to wear a sweater and not worry about having to wear a jacket over that. I guess it's a love/hate thing, haha.
Tomorrow Megan and I are going up to Sacramento to see The Chariot on their farewell tour. This will be the third time I've seen them, and Megan's first and last time. That's kind of depressing. I'm excited though, these guys always put on an exceptional show.

Hope you all are enjoying your weekends!

Skin Care: Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub

I was sent this Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub to try and review, and boy, did I fall in love.
This scrub contains pieces of pumice, a volcanic rock, to exfoliate the skin. I use it once, sometimes twice a week when I really want to pamper myself. This scrub definitely exfoliates and renews the skin. I like to use it after right after shaving in the shower, it seems as though I don't get as much razor burn that way. I love how fresh and smooth my skin feels after use. I always put on lotion once getting out of the shower then, as my skin absorbs it better after using this scrub (ya know, what with all the dead skin bits being sloughed off during use).
My skin always feels so much better after using Perlier's scrub. This is definitely something I'll be purchasing once I run out of the tub that I have! So in love.

All my readers can also get $5 off their Perlier purchase on HSN.com using the code iFabbo5

Enjoy!

Music Monday//Bad & The Ugly

I need to start doing more music posts on here, I think. This here is San Diego based band, Bad & The Ugly, whom just released their debut EP, "Skin & Bones", a few days ago. I haven't stopped listening since I purchased it. Describing themselves as "alertnafolk," Bad & The Ugly can be compared to the like of City & Colour. This band is the brain child of their singer, Nate. Him and Tyler are both former members of hardcore band, A Shattered Hope, and I'm actually so excited that Nate decided to go in this direction with his new project.
Here's the first song they revealed before releasing the EP.

If you like what you here, you can purchase their album on iTunes here!

Cut-A-Thon For Charity

The salon I work at, Revolver Hair Studio, had a Cut-A-Thon at the beginning of the month in honor of it being Breast Cancer Awareness month. All of the proceeds during the event were donated to City Of Hope, to help raise awareness. I told you all I'd have the photos from the event eventually, and here they are!

Here's the whole Revolver crew!

Dress; Rave | Cardigan; Forever 21 | Pants; Azkara

Paul Mitchell the School actually sent of over some of their student to help out and do manicures and pedicures during the event to raise even more. It was definitely a team effort, and I'm glad to work with such amazing girls.
Cancer awareness is very dear to me, being as several people in my family, and my best friend have dealt with the struggles of cancer, myself included. My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor, I had an aunt pass away due to liver cancer, and I myself am also a cancer survivor.
Thanks to everyone to helped out/supported and everyone who came in to get services done. This wouldn't have been possible without you all!

Floral

Dress; MinkPink via ASOS | Jacket; HM | Boots; Doc Martens via Nasty Gal

I have been seeing these smock dresses all over lately, and love it! Finally decided to go for it and got this one by MinkPink. Pair with the faux leather jacket from HM and these floral Doc Martens, it's the perfect early fall outfit! Little Cat decided she wanted to join in on these photos, as you can see. So, I got rid of the purple hair and went back to black, with a few blonde slices. I miss the purple, but it was just too much of a mess and would stain everything!
Life has been really good lately, and this week should be a fun one. I'll be down in LA a few days this week! Wednesday and Thursday to see City & Colour with Lacey, and then next Sunday to see Okkervil River with Justus!
Being as it's breast cancer month, the salon I work at did a cut-a-thon to which all the proceeds went to charity. We had a photographer come in to shoot the event, so I will have those up later this week!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Way Back Wednesday

Top, skirt, and hat; Young And Ukraine Vintage | Shoes; Dolce Vita via Urban Outfitters

I have been so behind on blogging and I apologize!!! Life has kinda taken over. Working, and more working, spending the majority of my free time with the boy, and trying to take photos at night sucks. I promise I'll have something new up within a week. But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to throw up some photos that haven't made it to the blog previously. These are from January 2012, when I was down in LA to model for Young And Ukraine. I'm still in love with this skirt and top combo. Probably my favorite outfit we shot for their web store that day. I miss doing stuff like this. It feels like it's been forever since I've shot with anyone!! Man.

Hope you all have been doing well!

Yo Dude

Muscle tank; The Laundry Room | Leggings; Forever 21 | Boots; Kohl's | Bangles; Free People | Ring; Modern Design

I have a total obsession with muscle tees, and The Laundry Room has one of the best selections of them out there. The brand originated here in my own city of Fresno, and have recently made it onto the likes of Nasty Gal, and Shop Planet Blue. It's rather exciting seeing a brand from my hometown make it out there. Lucky for me, their flagship store is located here, so I can go in and try on everything and not have to wait for anything I like to be shipped. If for any reason to happen to be out here, I suggest you pay a visit to their flagship store.
It's the second day of autumn, and it's actually starting to feel a bit like it here in central California! Super excited to be able to pull out all my jackets and fuzzy sweaters again. Plus some of the new pieces I've purchased within the past month. Be sure to keep a look out for those on the blog soon! Though I must admit, this is the time of the year I wish I lived on the east coast. I spent an October out there once, and I must say, it is absolutely gorgeous out there when the leaves start turning. Nostalgia. Sigh.

You all have a great start to your week!
