Way Back Wednesday

Top, skirt, and hat; Young And Ukraine Vintage | Shoes; Dolce Vita via Urban Outfitters

I have been so behind on blogging and I apologize!!! Life has kinda taken over. Working, and more working, spending the majority of my free time with the boy, and trying to take photos at night sucks. I promise I'll have something new up within a week. But in the meantime, I thought it'd be fun to throw up some photos that haven't made it to the blog previously. These are from January 2012, when I was down in LA to model for Young And Ukraine. I'm still in love with this skirt and top combo. Probably my favorite outfit we shot for their web store that day. I miss doing stuff like this. It feels like it's been forever since I've shot with anyone!! Man.

Hope you all have been doing well!

Modern Design//Hoot Nest

First off, I would like to introduce you to my newest sponsor, Modern Design! They contacted me awhile back asking if I would like to choose one of their rings, and of course I said yes! They've got some gorgeous pieces. I decided to go with this mixed metal Tungsten ring. The best of both worlds, both gold and silver! It's awesome because you can pretty much pair it with any jewelry. It seriously hasn't left my finger since I got it. Their customer service is awesome as well. I was surprised at how quickly I got it in the post, and not only that, but it fits like a dream! In love.

I also had the pleasure of shooting with Yezmene for The Hoot Nest's newest look book again today! They brought in a makeup artist and everything!
You also may have noticed a few changes... I have bangs again! My wonderful boss and mentor, Judith so kindly cut them for me, and I'm in love with them. Also, my ends are finally purple enough to really notice! I honestly haven't been this happy with my hair in a long time. I'm feeling good.

So tomorrow evening I will be taking off for Seattle for the rest of the week. I couldn't be more excited. Apologies in advance for the hiatus while I'm away, but prepare for lots of photos as soon as I return!

Hope you all have a great week.

High Voltage

High Voltage Shorts (vintage reconstructed orange tab Levi's); c/o De Epoca
Crochet dress worn as top; Urban Outfitters
Lace bralette; Forever 21
Boots; Kohl's
Abalone necklace; gift
Turquoise earrings; Vintage

FINALLY I've gotten around to shooting in these gorgeous vintage orange tab reworked Levi's from De Epoca Vintage! The lovely Jessika from De Epoca so kindly gifted me these shorts when I went down to San Diego to visit her. I tried them on, and they fit PERFECTLY. I am so incredibly stoked on them. She studded and sewed on the gorgeous dip dyed fringe herself. I had been eyeballing them on their website for quite awhile, so when she told me I could pick any piece from the site that I wanted, these were the first things I grabbed. Vintage perfection.
Also, how amazing is this abalone necklace?! My parents picked out this beauty for me while they were spending time in Monterey. They know me so well. Such a beautiful piece. Also, I must thank my grandmother for handing down her entire turquoise collection to me. These earrings are just a small bit of the magic.
I actually wore this outfit the other weekend at Fresno's Catacomb Party, but never got the chance to photograph it before, and afterwards I was just a sweaty gross mess. Also, I'm sure you've noticed I got my hair cut! I really didn't have much of an option, I had a bit of a mishap.. But disregard that, I actually LOVE how my friend & classmate, Evy, cut it. It was actually pretty unusual for me to even try to grow out my hair, as I've kept it really short most of my life. Back to my roots I suppose, eh?

Hope you all are having a great week!

Retro

Bell bottoms; Forever 21
Top; Forever 21
Shoes; Dolce Vita via Urban Outfitters
Turquoise choker & watch; vintage from grandmother
Obsidian arrowhead necklace; made by Demi
Crescent quill necklace; c/o My Salvation

So, the other day I decided to wander around Forever 21, and found myself in the sale section, all of which was buy one get one free. I came across a gorgeous tie dye dress (which you will see in another post), and then knew I had to bust a mission to find another piece for free. The sale sections there were so huge it nearly gave me an anxiety attack. I picked up a few pieces I thought could be possibilities to try on. Right as I was about to head to the fitting room, my eyes caught sight of these AMAZING bell bottoms. I saw them, and knew it was over. HAD. TO. HAVE. I have a slight obsession with bell bottoms. I immediately knew I'd have to pair it with a black band tee to add to the retro vibe, and this Pink Floyd fringed top was the perfect choice. And of course.. I HAD to pair this with my Dolce Vita platforms. Retro perfection!

Taking these photos was not exactly the easiest task ever. I wanted to use more of the fence as a backdrop, but the neighbor's dogs would NOT SHUT UP. One of them kept poking it's head through a hole in the fence. Way to ruin it, dogs.

Anyway, I've been keeping pretty damn busy with school and volunteer work at Kuppajoe. Things are overall going well. I'm yet again disappointed in humanity though. Saturday, my mom came in to my school (Paul Mitchell, for those of you who don't already know) so I could cut her hair. Within the time I was cutting her hair, someone managed to steal my doll head stand. WHY?! It's sad that we can't even trust anyone within our own school with our belongings. This isn't the first time it's happened either. I've had friends get their stands, scissors, and other tools stolen. Why, people? It's rather sad. I just don't understand the mindset or lack of conscious of some people.

Sigh.

P.S. - Some of the girls at school have started calling me "Combat Barbie". I am ever so slightly tempted to change my blog name to this. What say you?

Velvet!

Dress; c/o Some Velvet Vintage
Faux leopard fur coat; Thrifted from Goodwill
Turquoise rings & watch; Vintage
Shoes; Dolce Vita Joanna via Urban Outfitters
Sunglasses; Borrowed from a friend

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this gorgeous vintage dress from the 70's that Some Velvet Vintage sent me. It is absolute perfection! Fringe and velvet, what could be better?! Seriously, you guys need to check them out, they have some of the most amazeball vintage pieces ever. I'm also absolutely in love with these sunglasses. My friend totally forgot them in my car awhile back, and I've pretty much been living in them since. I really should get them back to him, haha.

Hope you all are having a great weekend so far!
