High Voltage

High Voltage Shorts (vintage reconstructed orange tab Levi's); c/o De Epoca
Crochet dress worn as top; Urban Outfitters
Lace bralette; Forever 21
Boots; Kohl's
Abalone necklace; gift
Turquoise earrings; Vintage

FINALLY I've gotten around to shooting in these gorgeous vintage orange tab reworked Levi's from De Epoca Vintage! The lovely Jessika from De Epoca so kindly gifted me these shorts when I went down to San Diego to visit her. I tried them on, and they fit PERFECTLY. I am so incredibly stoked on them. She studded and sewed on the gorgeous dip dyed fringe herself. I had been eyeballing them on their website for quite awhile, so when she told me I could pick any piece from the site that I wanted, these were the first things I grabbed. Vintage perfection.
Also, how amazing is this abalone necklace?! My parents picked out this beauty for me while they were spending time in Monterey. They know me so well. Such a beautiful piece. Also, I must thank my grandmother for handing down her entire turquoise collection to me. These earrings are just a small bit of the magic.
I actually wore this outfit the other weekend at Fresno's Catacomb Party, but never got the chance to photograph it before, and afterwards I was just a sweaty gross mess. Also, I'm sure you've noticed I got my hair cut! I really didn't have much of an option, I had a bit of a mishap.. But disregard that, I actually LOVE how my friend & classmate, Evy, cut it. It was actually pretty unusual for me to even try to grow out my hair, as I've kept it really short most of my life. Back to my roots I suppose, eh?

Hope you all are having a great week!

Summer Has Arrived

Shorts; DIY
Bralette; Forever 21
Turquoise choker, rings, hand chain; Vintage
Crescent quill necklace; c/o My Salvation Jewelry

So you guys may notice a few things here. Beauty school finally got to me, and I have changed up my hair color with the reverse ombre! Red on the top, and my ends are still black. I had honestly missed having red hair so much, I'm glad to have brought it back. Also, I repierced my nose! Seriously in love with having a nose ring again, I'm not sure why I ever took it out.

So, summer has definitely arrived here in central California. Triple digit weather. Blah! I've never dealt well with hot summers, and I've lived here all my life! I've learned how to keep fashionably cool though. These are one of my favorite pairs of shorts, which I DIY'd to death. Bleach, dye, studs. Then this black lace bralette I found at Forever 21. Definitely does the trick. I have also been incredibly stoked with the fact that my grandmother has given me here entire collection of turquoise jewelry. I am obsessed! This turquoise collar and the hand chain are my absolute favorite pieces. Also, please note this beautiful crescent quill necklace by My Salvation I got via Casey's blog. I love this necklace so much that I have literally been wearing it everyday since I got it in the mail! I would highly suggest checking out My Salvation, as all her pieces are beautiful and one of a kind. I'm greatly tempted to buy everything on their online shop. It's love at first sight!

Grunge & DIY

Studded leather jacket; Chic Boutique in Santa Cruz
DIY shorts; dyed and studded by moi
Tights; Urban Outfitters (shredded by moi)
Tank top; Forever 21
Boots; Kohl's
Rings; vintage, gifts
Wired stone bracelet; Target
Abalone earrings; gifted

Anything DIY has been my new thing lately. These shorts were inspired by the ever so lovely Madeline Pendleton. Splattered bleach all over them, then dyed them a fuchsia color. Then out of nowhere I decided to stud the hell out of them. I also shredded these tights to my liking.
As you know from my previous post, I spent the weekend with a bunch of amazing people in Santa Cruz. While roaming around shops, one, called Chic Boutique, had a rack of sale items posted up outside. As we walked by, I saw the studded leather jacket.. 50% off. Such a steal, and it's definitely my new favorite! I'd also had my eye on this stone bracelet I found at Target, just hadn't had the money to purchase it. Yesterday I went in to find that collection on jewelry had gone on clearance, and to my amazement, there was one left. I swooped it up real quick, and I'm so glad I did!
