Modern Design//Hoot Nest

First off, I would like to introduce you to my newest sponsor, Modern Design! They contacted me awhile back asking if I would like to choose one of their rings, and of course I said yes! They've got some gorgeous pieces. I decided to go with this mixed metal Tungsten ring. The best of both worlds, both gold and silver! It's awesome because you can pretty much pair it with any jewelry. It seriously hasn't left my finger since I got it. Their customer service is awesome as well. I was surprised at how quickly I got it in the post, and not only that, but it fits like a dream! In love.

I also had the pleasure of shooting with Yezmene for The Hoot Nest's newest look book again today! They brought in a makeup artist and everything!
You also may have noticed a few changes... I have bangs again! My wonderful boss and mentor, Judith so kindly cut them for me, and I'm in love with them. Also, my ends are finally purple enough to really notice! I honestly haven't been this happy with my hair in a long time. I'm feeling good.

So tomorrow evening I will be taking off for Seattle for the rest of the week. I couldn't be more excited. Apologies in advance for the hiatus while I'm away, but prepare for lots of photos as soon as I return!

Hope you all have a great week.

Lost Girl

Tank,necklace, & feather earring; Forever 21
Shorts; vintage via The Laundry Room
Rings; Wasteland, vintage.

This has got to be my favorite photo shoot to date. I LOVE how these came out! All thanks to Mariaya. I feel like such a lost girl in these. We drove out to Millerton Lake, which was perfect location, especially with the face paint. Awesome concept shoot, I'm seriously obsessed. I forget how many gorgeous places there are just outside of the city. I love California, I really do.

Sky High

Top & jeans; Azkara
Boots; Dolce Vita via Marshall's
Rings; The Laundry Room
Earrings; Rock and Republic

Ever tried climbing rocks and hiking in heels? I did, and conquered. Honestly surprise I didn't hurt myself at all, haha. Photos by the lovely Demi Rueda, who I adventured with this past weekend up towards Millteron Lake and out to Sky Harbour. It was such a gorgeous day. We were both incredibly out of shape, and both panting and short of breath by the time we reached the top of this hill. Great bonding time with one of my best friends though.
I love how flowy this top is. I've come to realize that I like baggier, loose fitting tops, with tight pants. I don't know why, but that's how it usually tends to go. These earrings are also my new favorite pair, which my sister got me for Christmas. I absolutely adore them.

So for awhile, I was feeling like my life was falling apart. I was finally working on bettering myself, and improving my relationship with God, and it seemed that everything else outside of me was falling apart. After lots of praying, and hard work, things are starting to look up again. Things at Victory Cafe are going really, really well. I am so excited for all the shows we having coming up the next couple months. I honestly couldn't be happier with it all right now. Life is good.

Hope you all are having an amazing week!

Adventures In Lemoore

Muscle tank; Forever 21
Turquoise rings; Vintage
Arrow ring; Wasteland
Boots; Kohl's

Photos by Mariaya Tallet

Here's some more from my adventures in Lemoore with Mariaya the other day. Let's just say the second half of this adventure got funnier. My bare behind in her car while making a wardrobe change on the side of the road right as a cop drives by. Stopping for snacks afterward, and me twisting my foot and bruising it. What's funny is that I hurt my foot walking into a Fresh 'N Easy... Now while I was busy climbing this tree for these shots like you'd think. Typical Maddie move.

This seriously has to be one of my favorite locations though. Being able to climb up a tree and have this much room to move around and not worry about falling is awesome. Getting to look out over the horizon from so high above the ground. No to mention the gorgeous sunset that evening. Then driving back home singing Savage Garden at the top of our lungs. Perfection.

It was a good day. Also. Listen to this. \m/

Summer Has Arrived

Shorts; DIY
Bralette; Forever 21
Turquoise choker, rings, hand chain; Vintage
Crescent quill necklace; c/o My Salvation Jewelry

So you guys may notice a few things here. Beauty school finally got to me, and I have changed up my hair color with the reverse ombre! Red on the top, and my ends are still black. I had honestly missed having red hair so much, I'm glad to have brought it back. Also, I repierced my nose! Seriously in love with having a nose ring again, I'm not sure why I ever took it out.

So, summer has definitely arrived here in central California. Triple digit weather. Blah! I've never dealt well with hot summers, and I've lived here all my life! I've learned how to keep fashionably cool though. These are one of my favorite pairs of shorts, which I DIY'd to death. Bleach, dye, studs. Then this black lace bralette I found at Forever 21. Definitely does the trick. I have also been incredibly stoked with the fact that my grandmother has given me here entire collection of turquoise jewelry. I am obsessed! This turquoise collar and the hand chain are my absolute favorite pieces. Also, please note this beautiful crescent quill necklace by My Salvation I got via Casey's blog. I love this necklace so much that I have literally been wearing it everyday since I got it in the mail! I would highly suggest checking out My Salvation, as all her pieces are beautiful and one of a kind. I'm greatly tempted to buy everything on their online shop. It's love at first sight!

Grunge & DIY

Studded leather jacket; Chic Boutique in Santa Cruz
DIY shorts; dyed and studded by moi
Tights; Urban Outfitters (shredded by moi)
Tank top; Forever 21
Boots; Kohl's
Rings; vintage, gifts
Wired stone bracelet; Target
Abalone earrings; gifted

Anything DIY has been my new thing lately. These shorts were inspired by the ever so lovely Madeline Pendleton. Splattered bleach all over them, then dyed them a fuchsia color. Then out of nowhere I decided to stud the hell out of them. I also shredded these tights to my liking.
As you know from my previous post, I spent the weekend with a bunch of amazing people in Santa Cruz. While roaming around shops, one, called Chic Boutique, had a rack of sale items posted up outside. As we walked by, I saw the studded leather jacket.. 50% off. Such a steal, and it's definitely my new favorite! I'd also had my eye on this stone bracelet I found at Target, just hadn't had the money to purchase it. Yesterday I went in to find that collection on jewelry had gone on clearance, and to my amazement, there was one left. I swooped it up real quick, and I'm so glad I did!

Snow Leopard Queen

Leopard bodycon dress; H&M, $20
Stone & feather necklace; Forever 21, $8
Cross ring; Ooh La La, $12
Vintage turquoise rings; gifted
Shoes; Dolce Vita, $60

Let me begin by saying I am SO excited it is now the weekend and I can sleep in as late as I want, and.. I CAN WEAR WHATEVER I WANT IN WHATEVER COLOR I WANT! Needless to say, I was incredibly excited to get dressed up and go out tonight. I've been volunteering at a nonprofit venue, called Kuppajoe, for the past three years now. We hold shows/concerts/whatever you want to call them every Friday night. I'm usually working the door (come say hi and give me your money). But anyway, since I finally have the opportunity to go out and wear what I want, I decided to give this dress it's debut tonight. I love leopard print, especially when it's in grays, whites, and blacks. Needless to say, I've found my new favorite dress. And as always, I have to dress everything up with jewels and accessories (it's become an obsession). Got quite a few compliments on my getup tonight, so I'd say it was a success. Hope you all have a great weekend!
