Lost Girl

Tank,necklace, & feather earring; Forever 21
Shorts; vintage via The Laundry Room
Rings; Wasteland, vintage.

This has got to be my favorite photo shoot to date. I LOVE how these came out! All thanks to Mariaya. I feel like such a lost girl in these. We drove out to Millerton Lake, which was perfect location, especially with the face paint. Awesome concept shoot, I'm seriously obsessed. I forget how many gorgeous places there are just outside of the city. I love California, I really do.

School Uniform: Upgraded/Late Night Musings

Jacket; random boutique in Santa Cruz
Top; H&M
Floral print pants; Kohl's
Boots; Kohl's
Abalone necklace; shop in Monterey

Since joining Phase Two (Paul Mitchell's advanced classes program), I have been allowed to incorporate white into my wardrobe, along with any color shoes I want! It's amazing how being able to add in just one more color allows me to showcase my style so much better. These floral print pants are some of my favorites. Today we had a makeup speciality class specializing in the smokey eye looks. One of my classmates did mine with the help of our wonderful learning leader, Stephanie Mele, whom I adore. I always get to hear other people's ways of describing my style, and Stephanie was talking about how she'd like to do my makeup, and described my style as more "geometric" as opposed to the more "soft" look more of my fellow classmates go for. I always love hearing different people's takes on what my style is.
I've only got 9 full weeks left of school, and I could be more stoked to be finished. Going through a year straight with no breaks is exhausting, just because I'm the type of person who has to have time to themselves, or else I start going crazy. As soon as I finish, I am taking an entire week to do absolutely nothing, recuperate, and regain my sanity. I'm amazed I've done as well as I have thus far without any breaks. It's slowly starting to get to me though. Any prayer is more than welcome.

Some more late night musings.

I wonder if you think about me even half as much as I think about you. I know you used to, and now the tables have turned. I turned these tables on myself, because of the stupid decisions I made. I won't ever be able to forgive myself if I can't make things right again. I know you were meant to be in my life, yet I dug myself deeper into this ground anyway. What if that summer was all I'll ever get to experience with you? I could never forgive myself. You make me stronger and weak all at the same time. I want to feel your fingers intertwined with mine again. I will never forget the look of longing on your face, when I knew you wanted to kiss me. I will never forget the deep sadness that swept over your face, the unwillingness to let me go when I had to head 200 miles back home. I wish I'd stayed. All these moments are forever engraved into my mind, and I don't ever want to lose them. I want these feelings again, only this time I will do everything I should have been doing all along. This time, I won't let go. I don't ever want to let you go.

Had to add this one in just because my cat, Truffles, wanted in on it. Haha.

Dress; Forever 21
Boots; Forever 21
Abalone necklace; Gift
Turquoise rings; Vintage

I forgot how much I love pairing dresses with boots. There's just something about it. I guess it's me being more into the grungy side of things, haha. I scored this dress in Forever 21's sale section. Blue tie dye? Couldn't say no. And these boots! The more studs the better. I got them seriously a year ago. I had my eye on them for months, and as soon as my birthday rolled around, that was the first place I stopped. I got lucky, this was the last pair of them left, and they just so happened to be in my size!
Also, my cat Truffles decided she needed to make a cameo here. She's my babe, I couldn't not let her have her moment! Haha.

Hope your week's going well!

High Voltage

High Voltage Shorts (vintage reconstructed orange tab Levi's); c/o De Epoca
Crochet dress worn as top; Urban Outfitters
Lace bralette; Forever 21
Boots; Kohl's
Abalone necklace; gift
Turquoise earrings; Vintage

FINALLY I've gotten around to shooting in these gorgeous vintage orange tab reworked Levi's from De Epoca Vintage! The lovely Jessika from De Epoca so kindly gifted me these shorts when I went down to San Diego to visit her. I tried them on, and they fit PERFECTLY. I am so incredibly stoked on them. She studded and sewed on the gorgeous dip dyed fringe herself. I had been eyeballing them on their website for quite awhile, so when she told me I could pick any piece from the site that I wanted, these were the first things I grabbed. Vintage perfection.
Also, how amazing is this abalone necklace?! My parents picked out this beauty for me while they were spending time in Monterey. They know me so well. Such a beautiful piece. Also, I must thank my grandmother for handing down her entire turquoise collection to me. These earrings are just a small bit of the magic.
I actually wore this outfit the other weekend at Fresno's Catacomb Party, but never got the chance to photograph it before, and afterwards I was just a sweaty gross mess. Also, I'm sure you've noticed I got my hair cut! I really didn't have much of an option, I had a bit of a mishap.. But disregard that, I actually LOVE how my friend & classmate, Evy, cut it. It was actually pretty unusual for me to even try to grow out my hair, as I've kept it really short most of my life. Back to my roots I suppose, eh?

Hope you all are having a great week!

Primadonna Girl

Crochet dress; Urban Outfitters
Lace bralette; Forever 21
Scarf/shawl; Urban Outfitters
Shorts; Forever 21
Shoes; Dolce Vita
Abalone necklace; gift

I have been DYING for a kimono, but every one I've seen has been way out of my current budget. Then I found this tie dye scarf in Urban Outfitter's sale section. I couldn't resist the kimono like feel. So of course.. I decide to wear it as a kimono as such to satisfy my craving for one, and I'm extremely happy with how it works! Especially over this crochet dress I also found the same day. Match made in heaven right there. I think this must be my favorite summer outfit as of now. Plus the gorgeous abalone necklace my grandparents bought me while they were on a trip to Monterey! IN LOVE.

Also, I must say that I absolutely love how bright the red in my hair is now that the color has faded out a bit. Exactly how I wanted it to look from the start! <3

Have a great weekend y'all!

Tough Girl

Dress; thrifted
Abalone necklace; gift
Tights; DIY
Vest; Azkara
Stone bracelet; Target
Turquoise rings; vintage
Boots; Kohl's
White pyramid ring; The Laundry Room
Spike ring; Foxhouse

Photos by Virginia Maciel

So my friend Virginia contacted me to do a shoot with her, and asked my to dress like a punk rocker. I decided to add my own little girly, yet tough look. I found this gorgeous dress at Goodwill for only $2, and couldn't pass it up. One of the hems was completely torn though, so I hand sewed it back together (I think my first time really sewing anything.. Yay me!). To toughen it up, I added the faux leather vest, shredded tights, boots with chains, and the spike ring from Foxhouse, which I absolutely love. That abalone necklace is one of my favorite pieces that I own right now. My grandparents got it for me while they were on vacation in Monterey. My family kicks ass.

Thanks again to Virginia for these beautiful shots!

P.S. - Vote this look on Chictopia please? <3

Grunge & DIY

Studded leather jacket; Chic Boutique in Santa Cruz
DIY shorts; dyed and studded by moi
Tights; Urban Outfitters (shredded by moi)
Tank top; Forever 21
Boots; Kohl's
Rings; vintage, gifts
Wired stone bracelet; Target
Abalone earrings; gifted

Anything DIY has been my new thing lately. These shorts were inspired by the ever so lovely Madeline Pendleton. Splattered bleach all over them, then dyed them a fuchsia color. Then out of nowhere I decided to stud the hell out of them. I also shredded these tights to my liking.
As you know from my previous post, I spent the weekend with a bunch of amazing people in Santa Cruz. While roaming around shops, one, called Chic Boutique, had a rack of sale items posted up outside. As we walked by, I saw the studded leather jacket.. 50% off. Such a steal, and it's definitely my new favorite! I'd also had my eye on this stone bracelet I found at Target, just hadn't had the money to purchase it. Yesterday I went in to find that collection on jewelry had gone on clearance, and to my amazement, there was one left. I swooped it up real quick, and I'm so glad I did!
