Another Better Late Than Never

Shoes; Forever 21 | Skirt, thrifted from Goodwill | Tee; Gifted from the Silent Planet boys

So... Another from back in July. Figured I'd get these out of the way before posting any of the newer stuff I have ready! I never wear t-shirts without cutting the sleeves off. I just don't like the fit of them. Always turn them into muscle tanks. This one was so kindly gifted to me by my friends in Silent Planet, a hardcore band whose motivation is to spread a positive message, and be there for their fans and friends for whatever they may need. They are seriously some of the most genuine and kind guys I know. Please, check them out, and if they are ever in a city near you, go and see them.
These flats I've had for a couple of years now, and they're still in pretty good shape. Super comfortable too, for those days I don't feel like wearing heels at the salon. And how cute is this skirt I found at Goodwill?! I swear I can always find awesome pieces there.
Anyway, life is pretty dang good at the moment. I most definitely can't complain.

I hope you all are having an awesome week!

July...

Shoes; Irregular Choice | Shorts; Lucca Couture via Buffalo Exchange | Top; c/o a friend

Yes, I am aware these photos are two months old now. Yes, I am aware that is pretty dang sad. But, better late than never, no? My absolute favorite shoes. I love the architectural aspect of these Irregular Choice Annabelle Trolleys. I don't think I've ever been more obsessed with a pair of shoes. I had literally wanted these for a year and a half, and finally gave in and purchased them. Best decision. The shirt I recently cut into a crop top. My friend, Corey, had gifted me this shirt while he was in the process of forming his new band, Storm Circus. I'm sure you all remember these shorts from a more recent post. Love them. They're the most comfortable things ever, and I love the bright colors.

So, it's September now. This year is flying by. It's also still incredibly hot here in California. I don't normally complain, because I hate being cold. But... I've recently purchased so many A/W pieces that I just want to wear already, which I can't in 100 degree weather! So, California. Cool down some, if only for my new clothes... Ha.

Hope you all are having a great week!

Skin Care: Hydroxatone

I was recently sent Hydroxatone's AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex, and can I just say I love it? This complex is a cream, one of which you don't need a lot of to spread around, so this product will last you a good while. I'm always weary of trying new skin products, as my skin is very sensitive and I often have allergic reactions, but I didn't have any problems at all with Hydroxatone! So if you're at all like me in the skin department, I can say you won't have any problems with this as I probably have the most sensitive skin on the planet.

Although I am a bit young to have to worry about wrinkles, early preventative care never hurts! I do feel as though my skin has firmed a bit after using this consistently, and I love that it has a sunblock in it as well. I apply it at night after washing my face with my Mary Kay cleanser, alongside my daily Mary Kay moisturizer, and also again in the morning before applying makeup. It creates a great base for my foundation.

All in all, I would definitely give this product a recommend, and will definitely continue to use this as part of my daily skin care routine!

Seattle Photo Diary

I know, I know. I'm a couple weeks late on this post, but here it is!

The drive from California to Washington. Top; Northern California. Bottom; Coming into Seattle.

Bunch of CDs I picked up while hanging at the Tooth & Nail Records office.

Being as touristy as possible in front of the gum wall with Micah.

Exploring Seattle with Micah as our tour guide.

Creation Fest! FF5 dance party//Merchin'//The Overseer

Reunited with Sarah! Hanging out in Portland.

Eating at Le Bistro Montage//View of Portland from a mountain//Driving through Battleground.

Where do I even begin? The first couple of days were spent exploring Seattle, lots of good food, and meeting all of Micah's old friends/roommates. I've been to Seattle before while on tour, but never really got to experience the city. Micah, having lived there for a large portion of his life, played tour guide and showed us all the best spots and places to eat. It was really nice actually being able to explore the city. Second day we visited his old place of work at Tooth & Nail, and then got to tour Jones Soda headquarters after that. Last day spent in northern Washington was at Creation Fest NW. I finally got to see one of my current favorite bands, The Overseer, there, which was an absolute pleasure. Super rad guys, and they put on a great show. It was also really nice to get behind the merch booth again at Creation. I didn't realize just how much I missed it until getting back there again.
After Creation fest, I said my goodbyes to Micah and FF5 crew, and headed south to Olympia to crash with my friend Mariaya for the night. Was really nice getting to spend some time with her and catching up. Later the next afternoon I headed down to Vancouver to meet up with my friend Sarah! I asked her if she'd show me around Portland, and that is indeed what we did. She took me to the most awesome restaurant, Le Bistro Montage. Their drink menu killed me. So funny. Also, our waiter wrapped my leftovers into the shape of a rose. Would definitely recommend this place. Afterwards, she took me to a record store, and then we went up to this mountain with the most gorgeous view of Portland.
I met so many awesome people on this trip. I'd forgotten how much goodbyes sucks.

Until we meet again.

Lost Lake: Pt 2

Bandeau; Forever 21 | Shorts; Unif via Wasteland | Bangles; Free People | Hat; Forever 21 | Rings; Modern Design, Vintage, Wasteland | Shoes; Jeffrey Campbell via Miss KL

Here's the second set I shot with Andrew Hunter a couple weeks ago. I have to say the last of these is my favorite, it just looks so natural. I finally found my perfect hat (pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but I'm doing it again anyway). I'm also pretty stoked that my hair is long enough now for me to wear hats without looking too boyish.
I know I'm lagging on my Seattle trip update, I promise I'll get that up within the week! It's been a bit of a bummer getting back to reality after having such a wonderful week away.

Hope you all have had a great weekend!

Lost Lake Pt. 1

Tank; Forever 21 | Shorts; Lucca Couture via Buffalo Exchange | Shoes; Irregular Choice | Bangles; Free People | Rings; Vintage, WastelandThe Laundry RoomModern Design | Lipstick; MAC Up The Amp

A year and a half later, and I finally got to shoot with my good friend Andrew Hunter again. He's one of the most incredible photographers I know, and is also Victory Cafe's in house photographer, doing both live shots and promos.
I found these shorts (which I absolutely adore) at Buffalo Exchange in San Diego when I was down there a couple months ago. I can't believe how fast time has been going. I got back from Washington (mostly Seattle) yesterday (I'll have an update on that later on this week), and although I do miss everyone an incredible amount, it is nice to be home and have time to recuperate before heading back to work tomorrow.
These photos were all shot at Lost Lake, about half an hour outside of Fresno. I've got another set from this shoot too, but that will be saved for another day. I've been getting back into the habit of going crazy with jewelry again, namely hand and arm parties (I love me some good bracelets and rings). I talked a good amount about the ring I got from Modern Design in my previous post, and it still has yet to leave my finger.

Anyway, I'm off to relax some more. I'm still pretty physically and emotionally exhausted from my trip. Hope all of you have a great week, and those of you who started back up at school today, I hope it went well!

Modern Design//Hoot Nest

First off, I would like to introduce you to my newest sponsor, Modern Design! They contacted me awhile back asking if I would like to choose one of their rings, and of course I said yes! They've got some gorgeous pieces. I decided to go with this mixed metal Tungsten ring. The best of both worlds, both gold and silver! It's awesome because you can pretty much pair it with any jewelry. It seriously hasn't left my finger since I got it. Their customer service is awesome as well. I was surprised at how quickly I got it in the post, and not only that, but it fits like a dream! In love.

I also had the pleasure of shooting with Yezmene for The Hoot Nest's newest look book again today! They brought in a makeup artist and everything!
You also may have noticed a few changes... I have bangs again! My wonderful boss and mentor, Judith so kindly cut them for me, and I'm in love with them. Also, my ends are finally purple enough to really notice! I honestly haven't been this happy with my hair in a long time. I'm feeling good.

So tomorrow evening I will be taking off for Seattle for the rest of the week. I couldn't be more excited. Apologies in advance for the hiatus while I'm away, but prepare for lots of photos as soon as I return!

Hope you all have a great week.
