Fashion INC.

Photo credit to What If Photography, Geoff Thurner, and Lotus Image.

I know this is really late, and that I've been really bad at blogging lately, but here's the photos from Fresno State's Fashion INC. show. This was my second year walking for Fashion INC.'s annual show, and I must say, I had just as much if not more fun than I did the first year I did it. Not only did I walk this time, but I also ended up getting called in help with hair as well. I guess it sometimes comes in handy being a licensed cosmetologist. Really impressed with the photographers this year, and was also stoked that I was able to get my makeup done by my friend Emily. Good times for sure.

Here's this year's video. Catch me getting down on hair here.

For those of you still with me, I appreciate you. I'll try to make more regular appearances here again.

MCMLXXIV

Pants; H&M | Jacket & Boots; UNIF | Shirt; The Chain Gang Of 1974

Photos by Megan Lane

The only thing running through my mind while uploading these was, "WHY DID I CUT MY HAIR?!?!!?" Yeah... I chopped off all my hair just a couple days ago. Mostly because my undercut was getting annoying, and because I had all these weird layers from how thick I kept my bangs last year. Sigh. It needed to be done, I think.
But anyway, hi, these are my current favorite shoes. They're comfy and easy to walk in but still give me the extra height. Also, this shirt is by one of my buddy's bands, called The Chain Gang Of 1974, which I'm very fond of, and would recommend checking out.

Until next time!

New Seasons

California has actually been getting some rain again!! I never complain about that. These photos were taken yesterday, the day after a big rainstorm, hence the gorgeous clouds. Perfect weather, if you ask me. Also, my favorite EVER coat (cardigan? Whatever you wanna call it), by Evil Twin. It is so warm, and fuzzy, and cozy. It's just the best.
Also, I just started a new job... At the Fresno Chaffee Zoo!! I'm an educator/guide there, so I get to work with both the animals and people. It's awesome getting to educate guests on all the different animals. It's also really nice to have a job that I don't dread going to. I'm pretty happy with it.

Hope you guys have been having a great week!

Spring Fashion Show

Hey guys! So I'll be live modeling for the first time at Fresno State's Spring Fashion Show. I'll be walking for Julia Vogue, and I'm super excited (and also pretty nervous)! I'd love if any of you guys in the area would come out. :) You can check the Facebook event page here for more details!

Cut-A-Thon For Charity

The salon I work at, Revolver Hair Studio, had a Cut-A-Thon at the beginning of the month in honor of it being Breast Cancer Awareness month. All of the proceeds during the event were donated to City Of Hope, to help raise awareness. I told you all I'd have the photos from the event eventually, and here they are!

Here's the whole Revolver crew!

Dress; Rave | Cardigan; Forever 21 | Pants; Azkara

Paul Mitchell the School actually sent of over some of their student to help out and do manicures and pedicures during the event to raise even more. It was definitely a team effort, and I'm glad to work with such amazing girls.
Cancer awareness is very dear to me, being as several people in my family, and my best friend have dealt with the struggles of cancer, myself included. My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor, I had an aunt pass away due to liver cancer, and I myself am also a cancer survivor.
Thanks to everyone to helped out/supported and everyone who came in to get services done. This wouldn't have been possible without you all!

Life Update

Some random captures by the lovely Yezmene Fullilove.
Just thought I'd share some of these.

So I survived my first week of work at Revolver Hair Studio! Was beyond stoked to get the position there, as it is such a great environment. All the girls there are super sweet and a lot of fun, and the owner/lead stylist, Judith, is such a huge inspiration and a great mentor. I've learned a lot from her already. So, you all know where to come find me now if you'd like to get your hair done. :)
Also beyond stoked for next week! I'll be heading up to Seattle to visit some friends and my babe. It'll be nice to get out of California for a bit again. Anyone live up in Portland or Seattle?

Hope you've all had a great weekend!

Lightness//Darkness

Photos by Yezmene Fullilove

"I've always been dark, with light somewhere in the distance" -Dallas Green

There's something so mystical about the Golden Hour. Where light and shadows collide. Where day meets night. I've always been described as being on the darker side. Pale skin, dark hair, and I prefer the nighttime. Always on the nocturnal side. I can't deny that I do love the evening hours in California during the summertime though. Lazing around in the summer heat, dipping my feet into the pool, watching and the sun slowly starts to descend.

Hope you all are well.

Yikes

I've been pretty bad at blogging recently. I've been sick the past 8-9, which is the majority of it. I had my state board test in the midst of the illness as well, which was incredibly stressful. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it through the entire practical part without fainting, it was so bad. But praise God, I made it through, and I passed. I'm now officially a licensed cosmetologist in California, and I'm FINALLY starting to recover from this illness that's been plaguing me. I've also got an interview in the morning for an assistant position at a pretty high end salon here in town, so pray for me for that. I'd be stoked to get this.

Here are the Victory Cafe staff portraits that our in house photographer, Andrew Hunter took awhile back inside the venue. I think they came out pretty bad ass. Ya'll should definitely check out his work, everything he puts out is pure gold.

And this has been a mini life update. Regular blogging will (hopefully) return soon.

The Hoot Nest

All clothes via The Hoot Nest
Photos by Yezmene Fullilove
Models; Demi Rueda, Brijido, Madeline Wainscott

So this past Sunday, Yezmene asked me if I would like to model for The Hoot Nest's lookbook. I of course said yes! The Hoot Nest is a vintage/thrift/upcycled shop located in downtown Fresno. The shop's owner, Gina, upcycles vintage clothes and ads her own little touch to them, yet still at a thrift store price. They've got so many amazing pieces! I actually ended up purchasing the vintage GAP shorts because I loved them so much. Demi, Brijido, Yezmene, and I all had a really great time shooting this. Quite a lot of fun. I hadn't modeled for any shops/clothing companies in about a year. Was great to get back into it! If you're ever around the Fresno area, this is one shop you must check out.

Hope you all are having a great week!
